Stop Working for Change is an initiative developed by Canela that any organisation worldwide can join. We only ask for one thing: a commitment to make an impact through action beyond International Women’s Day.

This is not a one day marketing campaign;
it’s a commitment to real change.

MANIFESTO

In Spain and Portugal only 6 out of 100 CEOs are women. Only 20% of experts quoted by the media are women. And the gender pay gap in Spain is 15% & Portugal is 16.7%

These are the statistics for our countries. We’re sure it’s fairly similar in other countries too.

This needs to stop. That’s why we are inviting other organisations to join us, to Stop Working for Change. We want to achieve a real impact so it’s up to us to act.

The Canela offices will be shut on the 8th March. No one in Barcelona, Madrid or Lisbon teams will be working on International Women’s Day. It is our way of honouring the date. We also recognise that one day per year won’t achieve significant change. So throughout the rest of the year, we will dedicate 8 hours for every Canela team member to causes and NGOs focused on the empowerment of women.

We are an agency where 84% of the workforce are female. So, this is our cause. And we invite you to make it yours as well.

Want to get involved?

If you want your organisation to be a part of the Stop Working For Change movement in 2024, please contact us. To be part of this initiative is easy, just follow these two steps:

Out of Office message

On 8th March 2024, set an OOO (Out of Office) message in your email explaining the reasons why your team is not working that day.

Empower

During the rest of the year, please donate a minimum of eight hours to an NGO or initiative working for the empowerment of women.

We will provide some materials and ideas for your OOO message, a pack of social media assets for your communication campaign. Feel free to use them or simply create your own. We can also supply a list of NGOs which you can contact to collaborate with.
